Kai Suites (Singapore) - The first luxury postpartum healthcare center in Southeast Asia

(Aseanrecords.world) The Kai Suites postpartum healthcare center, slated to open in early 2020, promises to be high-quality health care for mothers and infants. From there, it is possible to change the old concept of the necessary attention to the physical and mental health of mothers and babies.

The time to recover after birth is a long tradition in many cultures. At this stage, the mother needs a lot of rest, good nutrition and bonding with the baby.

Kevin Kwee, co-founder of Kai Suites, said: “My wife gave birth four times. And I realized that a woman really needs to take care of her emotional and physical health before, during and after pregnancy. They may face different problems with each birth, such as pain, tiredness or difficulty breastfeeding”.

At the same time, Kevin Kwee also said that it is common for new mothers in Taiwan, South Korea and China to recover at health care centers. After 18 months of market research, Mr. Kwee found that most of them were only clinically concerned rather than focusing on the comfort of the mother, who needed further attention. “I thought I would improve this concept by co-founding Kai Suites. Singapore’s ready for it. I already have local and foreign friends asking to reserve spots, ”Mr. Kwee said.

The 20,000 sq. ft. facility with the minimalist interiors by acclaimed architectural firm K2LD, and occupies a lush, resort-like setting on a sprawling 48,000 sq. ft. plot of land in Newton, within easy reach of Thomson Medical Center, Mount Alvernia Hospital, Novena Medical Center, Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Gleneagles Hospital.

Services and facilities include a medical clinic, an aesthetics clinic, wellness services such as physiotherapy and meditation, a hair salon, a cafe, a lounge for visitors, and a nursery where the babies will spend most of their time, except during feeding time or when their mums want to spend time with them – so the mums can get proper rest.

There are only 18 suites in total. The average room size is about 28 sqm, and each is outfitted like an upmarket hotel room, with mod cons such as 65-inch flat screen TVs. By combining the expertise of medical practitioners and wellness specialists, and Eastern and Western health modalities, Kai Suites bills itself as an integrated wellness haven setting new standards in pre- and post-partum care. According to Mr. Kwee, during their stay, clients will be served special prepared meals from a team of doctors, nutritionists and chefs but served “Michelin-star style”.

This will be an organised support system offering the best practices and best care protocols and latest technology so new mums get to enjoy and make the most of their ‘Golden Moment’ – all within a luxurious hotel-like setting.
