It is located in the Sepang District of Selangor, approximately 45 kilometres (28 mi) south of Kuala Lumpur city centre and serves the Greater Klang Valley conurbation. KLIA is the largest and busiest airport in Malaysia. KLIA possesses world standard facilities and is equipped to accommodate the Airbus A380, the world’s largest passenger aircraft.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport has 3 parallel runways; Runway 14L/32R, Runway 14R/32L, and Runway 15/33. This is the first airport in Southeast Asia with three parallel runways put into use. All three of which are over 4,000 metres (13,000 ft) long and 75 metres (246 ft) wide. The length of Runways 14R/32L and 15/33 is 4,056 metres (13,307 ft) while Runway 14L/32R is 4,124 metres (13,530 ft) long. The three-runway system is able to handle 78 landings per hour.
