Omni Theater (Omni Theater) is located on the campus of the Singapore Science Center established in 1987. This is the first first 8K 3D digital dome theatre in Southeast Asia. Along with Southeast Asia's largest seamless dome screen (23m in diameter), this is an immersive edutainment destination like no other.

Entrance to the Omni theater

Unlike conventional theaters, the Omni Theater, with a capacity of 221 seats, is equipped with a digital planetarium system powerful enough to allow the audience to look at space at a new Evans & Sutherland 8K 3D digital planetarium theatre system 2015. Initially, this theater was opened with a capacity of 276 seats and was the theater with the first IMAX Dome / OMNIMAX film system in Southeast Asia.

The screen is sixteen meters high (about five storeys high), and is made up of 376 aluminum-coated aluminum panels, covering a surface of 625 square meters. The material achieves 30% reflection, ensuring sound loud enough and clear. About 43 million holes in the screen allow both sound and air conditioning to reach the audience. Stretching 180 degrees from wall to wall and tilted at an angle of 30 degrees to the horizon, the screen “wraps” the audience to cover 80% of a hemisphere so that the image is beyond a person's field of vision.

The theater offers digital movies and live cosmic shows (performed by scientific educators).

With this new type of screen, the scientific and astronomical footage becomes vibrant colors with extremely high resolution images, the sound is also clearer.

The audience is on a journey of experience to remote locations on Earth and in outer space.
