Once a sleepy fishing beach village, the town is now dotted with swanky beach resorts, posh cafes and restaurants, attracting a large number of seaside-loving tourists and locals each year.

Mui Ne is quite unique in Vietnam, as here, sand dunes meet the sea, giving a unique aesthetic and micro-climate to this region.

When coming to Mui Ne, you can visit a number of places and enjoy activities such as:

Quad Biking in Mui Ne

Quad biking is a popular activity in the white sands of Mui Ne and quad bikes can be rented on the dunes itself. There are a number of stalls selling food and drink to parched visitors and a line of pine trees that offer some much-needed shade. The best time to visit the dunes for some quad biking is either early in the morning or late in the evening as it is too hot during the day.

Kitesurfing

Kitesurfing is a thrilling sport that allows you to skim the surface of the water while controlling your speed and direction with the help of the blowing wind. The water here is relatively free of rocks, making it the perfect place for beginners to try their hand at this activity. There are several kitesurfing schools along Rang Beach in Ham Tien and along both Ganh Beach and Suoi Nuoc Beach in Mui Ne, which also employ skilled Beach Boys for the assistance of the surfers.

Red Sand Dunes

The Red Sand Dunes in Mui Ne are a unique tourist attraction in Vietnam. The reddish-brown colour of the sand comes alive during the late afternoons and at dusk. The Red Sand dunes are smaller than their counterpart, the White Sand dunes, and hence they are more accessible. Sand Sledding is a common activity here, but it is hard to point down a good location to sled as the sand keeps shifting. The best time to visit this place is either early in the morning or late in the evening as the sand gets very hot during the day.

Fairy Stream

Rocks of yellow, white and tan stand in stark contrast to the surrounding green in Fairy stream, which is a small creek of water flowing through the heart of Huynh Thuc Khang in Phan Thiet. Since the depth of water is not much here, you can easily walk through the red-coloured waters here, which is especially enjoyable during the summer months.

This tourist hotspot has stunning views of stalagmites and stalactites, manifesting in various forms here. It is advisable to wear comfortable clothes when visiting. It takes about an hour to reach the end of the stream, and to satisfy your cravings along the way, there are a number of food joints and restaurants.
