On the South China Sea coast, with the Han River flowing through its midst, Da Nang is beautified by multiple bridges. Of course, the most striking among them is the Golden Bridge adorned by a sculpture of two giant hands holding it up.

Some places that you can visit when come to Da Nang such as:

Walk Across Golden Bridge

The Golden Bridge, or Cau Vang, located in the Ba Na Hills of Da Nang is famous for its sculpture of two giant hands cradling a golden bridge. The sculpture has acted as a tourist magnet, and the bridge is flocked with groups of people strolling or taking selfies. Made up of eight sections, the bridge is about 150 meters long and snakes through the forests of Ba Na Hills. You need to take Ba Na Cable Car to reach the bridge.

A very recent construction, the pictures of this flattering architectural marvel have gone viral on social media, boosting tourism for Vietnam and Da Nang. Part of the Thien Thai garden in the Ba Na Hills tourist area, the amazing contrast of the bright yellow bridge against the massive grey stone hands makes the Golden Bridge a sight to behold.

The hands that hold up the bridge, dubbed the “Hands of God”, are carved to perfection, with a weathered appearance to make it seem like they’ve existed here for ages. Purple Chrysanthemums planted along the bridge only add to the overall beauty of this magnificent spectacle.

Museum of Cham Sculpture

The Museum of Cham Sculpture is dedicated to Cham Art, displaying over 300 exhibits commemorating the culture, practice, and lifestyle of the Cham tribe (indigenous populace of Vietnam). This is the only museum of its kind in the world. The exhibit is divided into 10 exhibition areas, each of which showcases works from a separate region.

Located in Hai Chau District in Da Nang, the Museum of Cham Sculpture building soulfully merges the French, colonial, and Cham influences in its architecture. It was founded in the year 1915 by the Ècole Française D’Extrême Orient. Before turning into a museum, this place was known as the ‘garden of sculptures’, and since then, it has been expanded twice. It also consists of collections from My Son, Tra Kieu, Dong Duong, Binh Dinh, Quang Tri and Kon Tum. The best way to see the museum is to hire an MP3 audio guide for about 20,000 VND.

Son Tra Peninsula

The Son Tra Peninsula, also called Monkey Mountain, lies on the northeastern side of Da Nang and is sprawled across an enormous area of sixty kilometers. The peninsula is covered with forests and beaches, and there are plenty of things to do here including sightseeing, nature walks, and adventurous activities. It is just a 20-minute drive from Da Nang.

The beaches at Son Tra, such as My Khe and Nuon Noc, are quite peaceful and serene. You can also go on a jungle trek in the hills and appreciate the flora and fauna including Red Shanked Doucs and eating rabbits. Perched at around seven hundred meters above sea level, this site is perfect for people to take in the breathtaking panoramic views of the quaint Da Nang and spend a few hours soaking in historical sites and natural beauty.

Lady Buddha

Lady Buddha is a phenomenal 67 meters tall white statue that stands high in the Linh Ung Pagoda courtyard in the Son Tra Peninsula. The feet of the Lady Buddha rests on a white Lotus. The left hand of the Lady Buddha holds the bottle of holy water, and the eyes overlook the sea. The statue can be reached by an arguably difficult trek but is made worth it by the views around it.

About 14 km from the city center, the Lady Buddha statue is an imposing albeit benevolent structure. The lotus structure on which it rests has a diameter of 35 meters equivalent to that of a 30-story building. It is believed that the structure is visible from almost 35 kms away. The statue rises up to 17 floors and each floor houses a different Buddha – which essentially means ‘The Enlightened One’. The statue rises among some structured topiaries which are delightful in themselves.
