The inaugural edition of SHF was staged in 2004, and since then, the festival has continued to provide on-site and online experiences with yearly themes that focus on different aspects of Singapore’s heritage.

SHF works with individuals, groups and communities to co-create programmes and offerings. This allows the festival to uncover lesser-known stories and narratives, engender a greater sense of ownership, and empower Singaporeans to safeguard and promote our shared heritage.

This year’s event celebrates its 19th birthday, with the theme of stories related to vibrant travel history and rich natural heritage. The event takes place from May 2 to May 29 and includes many activities such as exhibitions, seminars, tours, food and other family activities. Pack your bags and go on a journey to explore the evolution of travel to and within Singapore, while reflecting on Singapore’s role as a dynamic tourism hub; or dive deep into Singapore’s natural heritage, discover flora and fauna native to the region and discuss Singapore’s growth as a “Garden City”.
