The program features Thailand’s Luk-Thung country music, Moh-Lam folk songs, and also modern genres including rock, pop, indie, and electronica. The festival is set to take over The Ocean Khao Yai, Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat), with camping grounds, food trucks and stages.

In its early days, the festival’s rapid growth prompted promoters to relocate from their original eponymous Big Mountain (or Khao Yai) location to the more vast Kaeng Krachan Country Club Phetchaburi, a venue that’s surrounded by the region’s towering mountains from which the fest takes its name. These days, the festival takes place at The Ocean Khao Yai, a hotel with sprawling grounds in Nakhonratchasima Province. There are eight stages erected for over 200 acts, which perform over the festival’s jam-packed two days.

Since Big Mountain Music Festival first made its debut back in 2010, its attendance of this has grown exponentially from 20,000 to 70,000 people (in the 2014 festival) with many folks coming from all over the world. It is currently the largest outdoor event in the whole of Southeast Asia.

After 2 years of canceling the event due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Big Mountain Music Festival has returned this year from December 10 to 11.
