Sawang Janpram had not participated in any athletic competition until 2017 when his daughter encouraged him to participate. Since then, the 102-year-old has achieved many achievements in competitions such as sprinting, and discus in his category for people over 100.

Before the age of 80, he was still a sedentary person, but seeing a friend of his sick and bedridden made him realize the importance of exercise, he decided to exercise by walking 2-3km every day. He is also encouraged by his 70-year-old daughter to participate in running competitions. Especially in the ‘Samut Songkhran’ competition in Thailand, he won the 100-meter sprint in just 27.08 seconds.

This year, he still competed at the 26th Thailand Sports Festival, with a record of 28.07 seconds in the 100-meter sprint at the age of 100-105 and won the Gold medal. This is also a new record for himself during his 4 years of participation in this sporting event.
