The race from 6am to 3pm is coordinated by the Brunei Darussalam Go-Kart Association (PGBD) and AIZ Event Management, Tutong District Development and Creative Body CEO Muhammad Amir Umarali said during a press conference on Tuesday (Dec 20).

“The race will start at Jalan Enchi Awang and several roads around Pekan Tutong,” he said.

He also said, “The activity is part of Tutong Buzz event jointly organised by the Tutong Municipal Department, the Tutong District Office and the Tutong District Development and Creative Body.

“It is part of the initiative to see more conducive and vibrant activities held in the Tutong District as well as to make the district an attractive destination for the public to fill their weekends.”

He added that it would be held in conjunction with Brunei December Festival 2022 and the school break.

The public can also watch a speed boat race at Tutong River.

“For those planning to come during Tutong Buzz, particularly to watch the Go-Kart race, they are advised to abide by the instructions and guidelines from the authorities, including the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and the working committee members, to ensure the visitors’ safety and well-being,” he said.

Meanwhile, PGBD Secretary Awang Md Yusri Awang Abu Bakar said it is the first time that the race is being held in Tutong District.

The race will consist of three rounds, with the first and second involving 15 laps each while final round at 25 laps.
