On October 5, Samsung Electronics held a signing ceremony with a new partner – Major Cineplex Group, the largest cinema company in Thailand with over 110 cinemas and 668 screens, to convert a 200-seat cinema at Paragon Cineplex in Siam Paragon into its LED Cinema.

Although Samsung’s LED Cinema screen is nearly 10.3m (33.8ft) wide, it is easily installed and configured in most existing cinema sizes. The screen also enhances content through HDR image quality, provided by ultra-sharp 4K resolution (4,096 x 2,160) and maximum brightness (146fL/500nit) nearly 10 times greater than traditional projectors.

In addition to image improvements, the LED Cinema screen also provides cinema managers with long-term performance reliability. The screen’s lifespan exceeds 100,000 hours of use, much longer than traditional projectors, and minimizes expensive maintenance needs.

With the development of the local entertainment industry and openness to new technology, Thailand has become the perfect location for the first LED Cinema screen in Southeast Asia.
