Construction of the Pulo Gebang Bus Terminal commenced in 2009 and was completed in 2012. The terminal was inaugurated on December 28, 2016. With a total construction cost of 448.6 billion Rupiah (approximately 33.3 million USD), this bus terminal was built to replace the outdated Pulo Gadung bus station and provide comfortable, safe, and accessible transportation services for the public.
Facilities and Amenities
Pulo Gebang Bus Terminal covers an area of approximately 12.6 hectares with 4 buildings. Each building has four floors equipped with elevators, escalators, automatic doors, air-conditioned waiting rooms, and surveillance cameras or CCTV. The terminal features designated areas for eateries, retail shops, a mosque, parking lots, medical centers, etc. It also serves as the final stop for BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) lines (officially operational 24 hours) and lower-capacity buses of TransJakarta.
Buses to and from Central and East Java often utilize this terminal. Pulo Gebang Bus Terminal has been integrated with several other class A bus stations across the Java island.
