The Cirata Solar Floating Park, inaugurated on November 9, 2023, is the largest solar floating park in the Southeast Asian region and one of the largest in the world. Built on a 250-hectare land area within the 6,200-hectare Citra reservoir of the 1.8GW Citra hydroelectric power plant, located approximately 100km southeast of Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta. The park has a capacity of 145MW, costing $129 million USD, will generate enough electricity to supply around 50,000 households and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 214,000 tons annually.

The park groundbreaking took place in December 2020 and is expected to create up to 800 jobs. The Cirata Solar Floating Park will contribute to Indonesia’s Electricity Infrastructure Acceleration Program, aiming to transition 23% of the country’s energy consumption from renewable sources by 2025.
