Introduced in 1991, The Silver Screen Awards is the first annual international event to celebrate the excellence of Singapore and Asian cinema. This award is presented at the Singapore International Film Festival – where recognition for the discovery and promotion of filmmakers across Southeast Asia is recognized globally today.

 

The Screen Awards aim to draw attention to the talent of filmmaking throughout Asia and especially Southeast Asia. It pays tribute to the individuals whose work has made an impact on the region and the actors who have their presence on and off-screen make a big difference to the community. Today, many nominees and recipients have become one of the region's most prominent filmmakers.

 

For the ever-changing film industry, this award has become a small incentive for the passionate and passionate individuals and groups to make valuable films for life.

 

The Screen Awards include the categories of the Asian Film Contest to award the Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Cinematography and the NETPAC Award for the Critical Award.
