It sounds crazy, but this is actually a vocational training program to prepare female prisoners for a better life after being released. The inmates undertake 300 hours of training in the art of massage and spa therapy so that they have marketable skills once their sentence is completed.

The training program is sanctioned and certified by the Thai Ministry for Public Health, so these women will gain officially recognized qualifications. The prison is affiliated with a network of related businesses, that offer inmates work once they have served their sentence and are considered rehabilitated.

The program was started in 2005 with only 5 teaching and practice beds, today that number has grown to 25 beds.

You can have a treatment the same day when you come here, but it is difficult to book for the following days, so a little advice is to come here early to be able to schedule a massage early.

The massage therapy here can be a bit rough for some people as there will be times when the female prisoners will help stretch the muscles and that will require more force, but it will definitely make your body full of vitality after being massaged.

The Center is open every day Monday through Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday, 9 am – 4:30 pm. The price of a massage is about 200 baht, but you can add a tip to the box to support more. To further support the center, you can purchase shirts, key chains, bags, scarves, and wallets from the Prison products store.
