The Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (PIHABF), is also known as “A Weekend of Everything that Flies.”

The event features multicolored hot air balloons with more than 100 balloon pilots from the Philippines and around the world. In addition, the event also features hot-air balloon competition, aircraft maneuvers and precision flying, ultralights, RC Demonstration Flying, sky diving, aircarft rally, rocketeering, flag jump, balloon bursting competition, kite flying, trade fair, carnival rides and nightly concerts. An estimated 100,000 visitors locally and from around the world come in to see this event.

The festival was initiated by the Department of Tourism in 1994 by then Secretary Mina Gabor to rescucitate the fledgling spirit of the Kapampangans – only three years following the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo. 

Currently, the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta has become an international air sports event that is loved by many people. It is also the biggest and longest-running aviation sports event in the Philippines.
