The Angkor Empire Marathon (also known as the Khmer Empire Marathon) is one of the few races where participants have the opportunity to experience the ancient running track in and around 40 ancient temples along the Angkor Wat temple complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Cambodia’s most popular tourist destination.

The upcoming Khmer Empire Marathon features four categories: Full Marathon (42k), Half Marathon (21k), 10k and 3k.

The 6th edition of the Khmer Empire Marathon, which was held in August 2019, drew more than 3,500 runners from Cambodia, United States, Thailand, United Kingdom, Vietnam, France, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea and 39 other countries. This year, the NOCC and Cambodia Events Organizer are expecting more than 4,000 local and international participants. The number of foreign participants could be lower compared to the previous years due to the ongoing pandemic.

The money raised from the event goes to Cambodia’s underprivileged sector.
