Founded and managed by Asia Diver (Publisher Rainer Sigel) Singapore in 1995, the first 4 expos were held in Singapore. The next 4 exhibitions were held in Bangkok (Thailand) and in 2005, the first expo in China was held under the name CADEX. 2019 is also the first year that India becomes an event venue.

The 2010 ADEX exhibition was the first dive show in Asia to have dedicated a specific theme to endangered species and opened the way for various future themes of the expos.

Other expos all have a specific theme focused exclusively on one species such as turtles (ADEX 2011), manta rays (ADEX 2012), whale sharks (ADEX 2013), corals (ADEX 2014), dolphins (ADEX 2015), seahorses (ADEX 2016) or environmental issues such as climate change (ADEX 2017) and plastic-free ocean (ADEX 2019 and 2020). Each expo has its own logo with an illustration of the main species of that year’s event.

ADEX brings together a wide range of people, from those with an interest in diving and the ocean to scientists, journalists, marine conservationists, underwater photographers, and environmental activists.

There are also many activities at the expo besides exhibits such as diving classes for young children and beginners, “mermaids” performances, scuba diving tours, conferences, and speeches by influencers and dive professionals on the current news about diving and the dive tourism industry, and marine conservation as well as marine conservation, book/film festival, and more.

This year’s event is called ADEX Ocean Vision 2022 and will be held at Sands Convention and Exhibition Center, Singapore from September 16-18.
