1. Telkom Indonesia

PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, also simply known as Telkom, is an Indonesian multinational telecommunications conglomerate. Telkom is one of the world’s oldest telecommunication companies. The company can be traced back to an establishment of the first electromagnetic telegraph service in Indonesia on 23 October 1856, by the Dutch Colonial Government to connect Batavia (Jakarta) and Buitenzorg (Bogor). Currently, Telkom is responsible for about 169.5 million phone lines in Indonesia.

Telkom Indonesia is a dominant and largest provider of fixed-line services due to owning most of Indonesia’s copper network. Telkom also runs telephone exchanges, trunk networks and local loop connections for its fixed-line telephones. 

In March 2019, Telkom Indonesia was one of the first Asian telcos to launch a Cloud Gaming service in coopération with Gamestream.

2. Singtel 

Singapore Telecommunications Limited, commonly known as Singtel and stylised as SingTel, is a Singaporean telecommunications conglomerate and one of the four major telcos operating in the country. The company is the largest mobile network operator in Singapore with 4.1 million subscribers.

Singtel controls significant market share in Australia and Singapore, with 82% of the fixed-line market, 47% of the mobile market and 43% of the broadband market in Singapore.

3. AIS

Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (AIS) is Thailand’s largest GSM mobile phone operator with 43.65 million customers as of Q3 2021. Founded in April 1986, AIS started off as a computer rental business. In October 1990, it launched analog 900 MHz mobile phone services with a 20-year monopoly concession from the Telephone Organization of Thailand (TOT), and later became the first company allowed to operate on the GSM-900 frequency.

4. VNPT

Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (abbreviated: VNPT) is a state-owned enterprise specializing in investment, production and business in the fields of telecommunications and information technology in Vietnam. The company owns Vinaphone, one of the three largest mobile network operators in Vietnam.

VNPT is the No. 2 state-owned economic group in the field of Post and Telecommunications in Vietnam, assigned the responsibility of being the investor by the Vietnamese Government and an enterprise entitled to trade, operate and exploit Vietnam’s first satellites, VINASAT-1 and VINASAT-2.

5. PLDT

PLDT, Inc., formerly known as the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company is a Philippines telecommunication, internet and digital service holdings company. It is one of the country’s major telecommunications providers, along with Globe Telecom and startup Dito Telecommunity. Founded in 1928, it is the oldest and largest telecommunications company in the Philippines, in terms of assets and revenues.
