Her mother Rosemarie “Rizza” Maniego-Eala is a 1985 Southeast Asian Games bronze medalist in the 100-meter backstroke and currently serves as the chief financial officer of Globe Telecom. 

Eala played tennis from a very young age, and in 2018 Eala won the Les Petit As tournament aged 14 and under at the age of 12. In 2020, Eala made her debut in the ITF Women’s Circuit and this was also the tournament where she won her first professional match.

In 2021, along with teammate Oksana Selekhmeteva, the two won the French Open women’s doubles title after knocking out Maria Bondarenko of Russia and Amarissa Kiara Tóth of Hungary, 6–0, 7–5, in the final.

Especially in September 2022, Eala became the first Filipino to win a junior Grand Slam singles championship and the only Filipino with multiple junior Grand Slam titles.

Her highest ranking in WTA is 214th in October 2022 and 267th in ITF rankings in April 2022.
