The history of Pos Malaysia Berhad can be traced back to the early 1800s with the establishment of postal services first in the Straits Settlements in Penang, Malacca and Singapore expanding through the rest of Malaya by the early 20th century.

The Federated Malay States Posts and Telegraphs Department was formally created on 1 January 1905 with the merger of the postal and telegraph services of Perak, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, and Pahang. A Malayan Postage Union was established in 1907 that instituted universal postage rates for the Federated Malay States, the Straits Settlements, and Johor.  In 1976, Postal Services Department implemented the first postcode system to make mail delivery more convenient. By 1992, Pos Malaysia Berhad was incorporated and developed into the company it is today.

The company 2018 began its transformation into a dynamic postal, logistics, aviation, financial and supply chain solutions provider with Malaysia’s largest delivery network. The company currently has more than 926 branches and small post offices in Malaysia.

With a track record of over 200 years, the Pos Malaysia Group has progressed from a traditional postal service into a dynamic mail and parcel services, financial services and supply chain solutions provider with the largest delivery and touchpoint network in Malaysia.
