Three founders, Marc Speck, Nicolas Richtli and Thomas Stauffer, have introduced a prototype of the Padrone Ring, a reinvented mouse, designed to bring a new user experience. The ring-mouse connects to the computer through smart Bluetooth and is equipped with multiple sensors to track movements of the fingers.

The index finger, on which the ring sits, is used to tap and move the cursor, the middle finger activates the left-click while both fingers together facilitate scrolling. No software installation is required.

Additionally, the battery lasts throughout your entire workday. Simply set the ring in the wireless charging station for it to reach full charge in less than three hours. Using Bluetooth connectivity, Padrone doesn’t even require any software installation. Available in 12 different sizes, the ring fits just as it should on your finger. Moreover, you can even keep the ring on while you wash your hands. Weighing less than half an ounce, Padrone looks and feels just like a jewelry ring.

There is really no difference in using the touchpad of your laptop and using the ring of Padrone. The video shows that such a ring lets you work exactly like you had an unlimited touchpad on your desk. It works on a desk or on any somewhat hard surface. The ring is worn on the index finger of the left hand or right hand. The wrist stays mostly on the same spot on the table. Most people hold their hand in this position anyway when they are relaxed.
